Japanese Anime DVD Ranking, April 18-24

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time ("Toki-Kake") already made the news by debuting on top of the daily ranking chart for all DVDs (not just anime ones), and it continued strong throughout the week to scale the weekly chart as well. Akibablog notes that the Premium Edition of the movie—with its three discs, a handbook full of background art and more, Kuwagata-kun and Tentoum-kun mobile phone straps, and a bookmark made from a strip of the movie's actual film—has been selling out in most stores in Tokyo's Akihabara shopping district.
The only other new entry is Winter Garden, the latest television special featuring Dejiko and the other Broccoli girls. For those wondering about numbers 4 through 6, The World of GOLDEN EGGS is a raucously crude cel-shaded series on MTV Japan that Eric Cartman and SpongeBob SquarePants would find depraved.
