Anime at the Hong Kong International Film Festival

Tekkon Kinkreet, 2 experimental animation films to be screened
The 31st Annual Hong Kong International Film Festival, which runs from March 20th to April 11th, will feature 3 anime features from Japan. The films are the Michael Arias anime Tekkon Kinkreet, art film Tokyo Loop, and experimental live-action and animation film Tachigui Retsuden (literally "Standing and Eating Person in Line Legend"), which is produced by Production I.G
In addition to the screenings, Japanese Anime Network "Animax" will run a special theater for advertising purposes. The channel is already available in Hong Kong to subscribers.
There will also be an "Asian Film Awards" ceremony as part of the festival. In that competition, Oishii Tetsuya and Kaneko Shusuke are nominated for "Best Screenwriter" for their work on the live action film based on the Death Note manga, Death Note: The Last Name. Additionally, Terashima Tamiya is nominated for "Best Composer" for the musical score of the recent Miyazaki Goro film Gedo Senki (Tales of Earthsea).
