Rising Stars Winner to have Series Published

M. Alice "Marty" LeGrow's Bizenghast to be published by Tokyopop
TOKYOPOP has announced, via press release, that they will be publishing an complete manga series by M. Alice "Marty" LeGrow, a winner of their second "Rising Stars of Manga" competition.
LeGrow's Rising Stars of Manga entry, Nikolai, won her one of the runner up prizes in the competition. In addition to a monetary prize, LeGrow's entry was published in The Rising Stars of Manga anthology, released in December 2003. Furthermore, LeGrow also received the opportunity to pitch a full length manga series to the TOKYOPOP editors.
LeGrow pitched a series called "Bizenghast" to the editors, and according to TOKYOPOP's Kristien Brada-Thompson, the editors "loved it." The first volume of Bizenghast is due to be published in 2005.
LeGrow is the second winner from the competition to receive a publishing deal, Lindsay Cibos's Grand Prize-winning Peach Fuzz will become a TOKYOPOP manga series. Kristien Brada-Thompson is confident that more publishing deals with winners from the second contest will be announced in the future.
In the meantime, there are a little more than 2 weeks left until the deadline for submissions to TOKYOPOP's third Rising Stars of Manga competition.
