Comic Con India Ends Current Season With a Bang at Mumbai Comic Con 2024

Fans raved to DJ Kazu's Anisong mixes and got their merch fix at the Bandai Namco Pop-Up, while Muse Communication made its first appearance at the convention

It's been an exciting convention season for anime and manga fans in India as Crunchyroll partnered with Comic Con India for its events in Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Mumbai. While the company attended the Bengaluru Comic Con, Delhi Comic Con, and Mumbai Comic Con events in the 2022-2023 convention season, it really made this season's conventions unmissable for anime fans. The final Comic Con India event of the season, Mumbai Comic Con, saw every Demon Slayer fan's dreams come true, when Crunchyroll announced it would bring voice actor Natsuki Hanae and producer Yūma Takahashi for a panel at the event while they visited Mumbai for anime's World Tour screening.

Crunchyroll kept the party going on the second day of the convention, with a performance by DJ Kazu. Having played anime conventions across the world, the performer brought his selection of J-pop and Anisong mixes to an Indian audience for the first time ever.

Past Comic Cons have also seen their fair share of manga enthusiasts thanks to Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster's booths, and this year was no different in terms of their manga offering. Simon & Schuster had every box set imaginable from staples like My Hero Academia to cult classics like Claymore.

The Bandai Namco Pop-Up Store joined the party during Delhi Comic Con and Mumbai Comic Con. Mumbai's booth had freebies, merch for sale, "gachapon" machines, and even the Taiko no Tatsujin arcade game.

Taiwanese anime distributor Muse Communication also had a booth at the event. Considering it's one of the first licensors to stream several popular titles as they air on Japanese television, anime fans felt like they were meeting an old friend even though it was the company's first appearance at Comic Con India. Even Cartoon Network India were in on the anime fever with its One Piece-themed booth.

Comic Con India began with Bengaluru Comic Con on November 17 with its first-ever three-day convention in the city and ended a bang at Mumbai Comic Con. Mumbai Comic Con also had a gaming section, a booth by Nyx Professional Makeup, appearances by Pop-Culture legends like Art Guy Rob, stand-up comedy performances, and of course Indian publishers and exhibitors like Holy Cow Entertainment and Amar Chitra Katha. We can only hope next season is even bigger and better.
