Limited-Edition Massage Cushions Feature Yuuki Kaji's Voice

posted on by Kim Morrissy

Voice actor Yūki Kaji has lent his voice to some truly unexpected things before, like a Smart Mirror and a printer, so it really shouldn't surprise you at this stage that he's voiced a massage cushion. The cushion is equipped with speakers that will play original lines from Kaji's web radio show "Kaji Yuuki no Hitorigoto" (Yūki Kaji's monologue), as well as a short story about Bocchi-kun, a character designed by Kaji.

The product is a work of collaboration between the radio show and the Lourdes massage cushion brand. Kaji explained that his show is meant to be a soothing and relaxing experience, hence a tie-in with a cushion. "Close your eyes, empty your mind, and listen as you dive into Bocchi-kun's world. I'm sure that you'll feel soothed," he said.

The cushion went on sale on Sunday and will cost 14,000 yen (US$129). Only 2,500 pillows will be made, and they are expected to ship in mid-December. They can be ordered from Atex's online storefront.

Kaji is best known for his roles as Eren in Attack on Titan, Meliodas in The Seven Deadly Sins, and Todoroki in My Hero Academia. He won the Best Rookie Actor Award in the 3rd Seiyu Awards in 2009 and won the Best Voice Actor Award two years consecutively in the 7th and 8th Seiyu Awards in 2013 and 2014.
