Life-Sized Re:Zero Rem Figure Bites the Dust

posted on by Kim Morrissy
Figure originally would have cost 1.48 million yen

In 2016, FigureX announced 30 life-sized Rem figures for 1.48 million yen (about US$12,600) each. Such an expensive treasure should be prized forever, but unfortunately at least one owner's figure has gotten into a nasty accident.

A Google image search reveals that the image first began circulating on a Chinese message board on October 22 (although it has since been removed). The image has since been picked up by Chinese, Korean, and Japanese social media. The earliest poster of the image wrote: "I don't know if there was a mistake in the handling process or whether there were some complications along the way. Anyway, the legs have snapped. *tears* But I heard that this life-sized figure has a lifetime warranty."

One Japanese Twitter user, who claims to be an owner of a life-sized figure themself, expressed their condolences: "As an owner of a life-sized figure myself, let me just say that this fuckin' sucks! To put it mildly. This is no mere 'product'! It was a huge dream come true for the person who made the decision to buy it! They didn't buy it to see it like this."

Hopefully, the product really is under warranty and the owner can have their dream restored.
