Sunrise Produces Promotional Anime for Hino Motors

Gundam franchise animation studio Sunrise created a seven-minute promotional anime for Hino Motors, a commercial and diesel vehicle manufacturer.
The "Ano Hi no Kokoro o Toraete" anime follows two childhood friends voiced by siblings Yūma Uchida (Fruits Basket, Banana Fish) and Maaya Uchida (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Is the order a rabbit?). The setting is the near future and "FlatFormer" technology has just debuted worldwide.
The animated ad was written and directed by Takahiko Kyōgoku (Love Live!, GATE). Digimon Adventure tri. character designer Atsuya Uki drafted the character designs and Marie Tagashira (City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes) adapted the designs for animation. The ad's theme song is performed by Tokyo Karan Koron.
