Footballer Yuto Nagatomo Stars in Captain Tsubasa Special Anime

Japanese football player Yūto Nagatomo will guest star as himself in a special Captain Tsubasa anime that will air during the upcoming yearly FNS27-Jikan Terebi Nihon no Sport wa Tsuyoi! (FNS 27 Hours TV: Japanese Sports are Strong) program. The anime's story will show Nagatomo collaborating with the cast of the anime. The overall program will air from November 2 at 6:00 p.m. to November 3 at 9:54 p.m., and the special Captain Tsubasa anime episode will air within the program on November 3. Original Captain Tsubasa manga creator Yōichi Takahashi is supervising the anime.
The program will focus on Japan's "human national treasures," and will also feature Takahashi describing his work, how the Captain Tsubasa manga was created, and the origin of the overhead kick. Male idol group KANJANI Eight member Shingo Murakami will be the "captain" of the live-action program.
Murakami guest starred as himself in the program's special episode of Sazae-san last year.
