Flee the Angels in Neon Genesis Evangelion Real Escape Game

The terrifying Angels from Neon Genesis Evangelion will attack as part of SCRAP's "Escape from the Invisible Angels" real escape game next month. The game will take place on July 29 at Lazona Kawasaki Plaza in Kanagawa. The real escape game is the first for the series since the "Escape from Tokyo-3: Your Strategy is to Save Humanity" game in 2015.

Participants will act as a pilot of Evangelion Unit 01 within NERV HQ and attempt to capture the "mystery angel" in cooperation with Misato, Rei, and Asuka. Players will walk around the facility and solve mysteries and crack codes in order to capture the Angel.

The game will be sold as kits at the venue and include voice recording. Participants will need a LINE account to play. The official website states that their are plans to bring the game to more locations.

The original Neon Genesis Evangelion television anime debuted in Japan in 1995. Netflix began streaming the series and Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth and Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion films on June 21.

The "Rebuild" films, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance, and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, debuted in 2007, 2009, and 2012 respectively. Toei announced on Monday that it will screen the first 10 minutes and 40 seconds of Studio Khara's new Evangelion film, Shin Evangelion Gekijō-ban :||, on July 6.
