Good Smile Company Unveils Its 1/1-Scale SAO Elucidator Sword

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Good Smile Company opened pre-orders on Thursday for its 1/1-scale replica of Kirito's favorite blade, the Elucidator. The sword is part of Good Smile's High-Grade Electronic Toy line created in a partnership with Cerevo Inc.

This sword is equipped with a gyro sensor that recognizes how the toy is moving, a speaker, and 700 LEDs. The light and sound changes according to sword's movement with accompanying sound effects. Different sounds and lights are displayed when the sword is gripped, swung, or senses impact.

Users can also activate the "Starburst Stream" attack via the sword's voice recognition or with the press of a button. Sword wielders can control the Elucidator via a smartphone app, too.The sword's lights and effects can be controlled with a few taps on a mobile device.

The Elucidator regular edition is 120,000 yen (US$1,100) and the special edition is 150,000 yen (US$1,385). The Special Edition uses genuine leather for the grip, part of the handle is anodized, and a custom carrying case is included.

Cerevo Inc revealed its BLADEM (connected BLAde Development and Evalution Module) Elucidator design last year. The website for the product is no longer functional but many of its features (LED lights, voice activation, internal motion sensor, and app capability) are similar to the newly unveiled sword.
