Watch Splatoon 2's Pearl and Marina Go 'Off the Hook' at Tokaigi 2019

Fans of Splatoon 2 idols Pearl and Marina got to experience a one-of-a-kind undersea concert at Tokaigi 2019 (Game Party 2019) in Japan. The two-day gaming megashow was held in January. Fans of the duo who weren't able to cross oceans to see them can now enjoy the idols "Off the Hook" concert from home thanks to Nintendo UK. The company uploaded the 36-minute show on YouTube on Thursday.
Pearl and Marina performed on stage with a live band. The video game characters were rendered "virtually" using the same kind of light tricks seen at Hatsune Miku and other virtual idol concerts.
The pair's predecessors Callie and Marie from the original Splatoon game performed at the Japan Expo in Paris in 2016.
Splatoon 2 shipped in 2017. The game became the first Switch game to surpass 2 million copies sold in Japan.
