Sword Art Online Goes to the Dogs in 2 Game Ads

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Cats get a lot of the attention as the official mascot of the internet, but their barky brothers aren't short on charm.

The marketing staff of The Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization game decided to have a little fun with the game's title and bring in some pups to promote the Nintendo Switch version's release in Japan on April 25, and in the West on May 24. The two ads "Sword Art Wanline" plays character dialogue over dogs representing Alice, Kirito, and Eugeo. I guess this means the characters have official fursonas now?

The Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization game shipped for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in October 2016, and in North America and Europe in November 2016. The game later received a PC release in October 2017.

Tomo Hirokawa adapted the game's story into a six-volume manga. Yen Press publishes the manga in North America and released the second volume on February 19.
