posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
A new live-action commercial promoting Mitsuru Adachi's Mix manga debuted on March 27 with AKB48 idol Moeka Yahagi in the lead role. The singer is shown reading volume after volume of the manga series at her desk while a baseball game can be heard in the distance. Yahagi finds herself feeling many emotions through the characters in the series.
Yahagi commented that she was happy to appear in the commercial for her favorite manga series and she hopes others her age will read it, too.
Yahagi joined the AKB48 idol group last year as part of Team K.
Adachi's Mix manga is currently serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine and a total of 14 volumes are currently in print. Mix is a spin-off taking place nearly 30 years after the events of Adachi's Touch manga. The story centers on two step brothers who are aiming to compete in the national Kōshien baseball tournament. The television anime adaptation will premiere on April 6.
