Tokyo Hotel Offers Readers a Quiet Escape with 5,000 Manga Volumes

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

A hotel in Tokyo is marketing itself as the perfect spot for a quiet night in with more manga than you could possibly read. The Manga Art Hotel Tokyo is a "concept" capsule hotel set to open next month in the Jinbōchō district. The hotel should fit right in with the area's many used book stores, antique shops, and the Iwanami Shoten publishing house.

Manga Art Hotel Tokyo hopes to create an immersive reading environment for manga fans with 5,000 volumes to choose from. The reading selection is curated by the hotel's manager with an emphasis on "art" in a broad sense. Titles were also considered based on recommendation. Visitors who enjoy a particular volume will be able to purchase it at the hotel.

There are two floors segregated by gender and a total of 35 rooms will be available.

The hotel will open reservations at the end of January. Next month, Manga Art Hotel Tokyo will offer collaboration pajamas to make sure its guests are extra cozy for their stay.

Japan's hotels have offered different experiences to both set them apart from competition and court anime fans. The Nihonbashi Muromachi Bay Hotel offered Encouragement of Climb themed rooms and the shirakaba Resort's Ike no Taira Hotel has Precure-themed rooms for booking.
