Miss Universe Japan Will Triumph Over Beauty Queens (and Evil)

Miss Universe Japan 2018 winner Yuumi Kato is bringing her Pretty Guardian persona to the world stage for the Miss Universe 2018 competition. Kato's sparkling take on Sailor Moon's costume had fans raving on Instagram on last week. She plans to wear the ensemble as her national costume for the competition.
Every year, the Miss Universe competition pits beauty queens of nearly every nation against one another for the biggest crown. Part of that competition includes a National Costume Contest where glamour, feathers, and big headdresses collide with national identity. Contestants have walked the stage as Frozen's Elsa, lace-fueled butterflies, literal castles, and more. The Miss Universe 2018 competition be held in Thailand on December 17.
