posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Sony revealed more details on Thursday for the Monster Hunter: World and Final Fantasy XIV dual collaboration originally revealed during E3 last month.
The new video highlights the update on August 1 at 8:00 p.m. EDT for Monster Hunter: World. In the event, Monster Hunter: World players will be able to obtain a "Drachen" armor set, a "Gae Bold" insect glaive, and a "Dragon Soul" Kinsect to look like a Dragoon. Hunters can also get equipment to make their Palico look like a moogle.
As previously teased, players will also be able to fight a Behemoth. The video also teases that Hunters can also give a Behemoth costume to their Poogie. Cactaurs will also appear in the game, and can be used as environmental traps.
The video also teased a Kulu-Ya-Ku being gigantified by a crystal.
The Monster Hunter: World collaboration in Final Fantasy XIV is also set to debut this summer. The announcement video featured a Palico and Rathalos in Final Fantasy XIV.
Monster Hunter: World launched worldwide on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26, and shipped 5 million copies worldwide (including digital sales) in its first three days to set a new franchise record. The game has shipped over 8 million copies worldwide. The game will launch for PC via Steam on August 9.
