Cosplayer Job Site Launches in Japan

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Cosplayers Archive, a social network site for Japan's top-level cosplayers, opened the CosJob website on Thursday. The new website offers job information to serious cosplayers.

Apparently, both the number of cosplayers looking for professional work and companies seeking to hire cosplayers have been increasing in Japan. The aim of the website is to help cosplayers and companies connect and promote the expansion of the cosplay industry.

CosJob features a wide variety of job listings for everything from "cosplay companions" to anime shop salespeople. The website does not restrict the types of jobs its listings offer. Some jobs are for short-term event staff, but full-time positions for more knowledgeable cosplayers are also available.

The website seeks to offer an efficient experience for both cosplayers and companies. Users can create manuscripts, manage applicants, and contact each other through the site. After reviewing applicants' skills and work history, prospective employers can download information about them and communicate through a message board.

The annual World Cosplay Summit is just around the corner. The event, which will run from July 28 to August 5 in Nagoya, will help cosplayers from around the world gain names for themselves on the world stage. It may only be a matter of time before websites and services like CosJob spread to other nations to help rising cosplayers connect and grow in their careers.
