Laid-Back Camp Anime Gets Even More Merch, Events

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Anime News Network's merchandise coverage sponsored by Tokyo Otaku Mode.

The Laid-Back Camp anime has already inspired a variety of events, promotions, and merchandise. Now, the show is getting even more goods, plus another event and promotion.

Akros Ltd. is offering a real-world version of Nadeshiko's backpack. The backpack is made of cotton with a water-repelling treatment, and the flap is made of real leather. The sides have pockets for 500-milliliter (about 17-ounce) drink bottles, and the inside has a PC pocket. An opening in the back allows people to access the bag's contents without opening the entire backpack.

The backpack costs 13,800 yen (about US$130), and it listed for release on August 4. Additionally, Akros Ltd. is offering a mug, pouches, towel, and drink bottle. All of the items are available for pre-order through Amazon.

Tanikawa Co., Ltd. is offering dango (sweet rice dumplings) inspired by Rin's hairstyle in the anime's 12th episode. They are made with rice flour from Yamanashi, one of the prefectures that is home to Mt. Fuji. A set of three costs 850 yen (about US$8).

A "Laid-Back Camp Official Bus Tour" will be held on September 9. The tour will offer a camping experience even beginners can enjoy. Participants will visit Fumotoppara campgrounds, which appear in the anime. Nadeshiko's voice actress Yumiri Hanamori and camp coordinator Yūka Koishi will hold a talk. Tickets will be available through a lottery that will open on June 28.

Machi Asobi Cafe will offer a new Laid-Back Camp collaboration cafe at four locations from June 12 to July 29. C-Station is providing special illustrations for the promotion. People who order from the food menu will receive a placemat, and people who order from the drink menu will receive a coaster. Separate limited-edition merchandise will also be available for purchase.
