Yo-Kai Watch Toys Possess U.S. Happy Meals

Keep your eyes peeled for haunting spirits at your local McDonald's, because the fast food chain is adding some spooks to its Happy Meals. Yo-kai Watch toys are returning with a keychain toy that projects Jibanyan and Whisper, a Jibanyan bobble head, a Whisper squeaky toy, and character masks.

The toys also correspond to McDonald's McPlay app where Level-5's characters come to life for interactive mini-games and coloring pages.

McDonald's previously offered Yo-kai Watch toys in its Happy Meals in Japan, The Philippines, and France. Super Mario toys jumped into U.S. Happy Meals last year followed by Pokémon Sun & Moon and Sanrio toys in November.

Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: Oni-ō no Fukkatsu (Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King), the fourth film in the Yo-kai Watch franchise has earned a total of 689,731,100 yen (US$6,117,914) in the Japanese box office since it opened on December 16. The new film is expected to earn 2.5 billion yen (US$22 million). Level-5 released its Yo-kai Watch Busters 2: Hihō Densetsu Banbaraya 3DS video game on December 16.
