When It Comes to Virtual Reality, Players Want Idols, Action, & Fanservice

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Koei Tecmo's VR Sense virtual reality game machines launched in Japan last month to much popularity. The two different capsules offered six virtual reality experiences between them, and Koei Tecmo found some interesting trends among the most selected experiences.

After looking the 5,000 plays from the machines' first five days, staff found that Majesty × X.I.P. Dream☆Live game, which features idols from the Tokimeki Restaurant☆☆☆ mobile game, is the most popular selection between either unit type. Players get to watch two of the handsome bands perform and earn points by waving virtual light sticks in time with the music. It's like a rhythm game and interactive concert in one.

In second place is the popular Dynasty Warriors hack and slash. Just like its console versions, the VR game pits the player against hordes of foes with only a trusty sword and well-timed combos to save their skin.

In third place is Dead or Alive Xtreme Sense, which offers the ultimate fanservice experience. Dead or Alive fighters Kasumi, Honoka or Marie Rose can be selected for one-on-one time in a shower or pool. Players can even smell their chosen girl while participating in mini-games to earn new outfits.

The three other VR Sense games offered are G1 Jockey Sense, Horror Sense ~Daruma-san ga Koronda~, and Chō Sengoku Coaster.
