Arby's Visited Anime Expo, Gave Away Bandai Namco Prizes

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Anime News Network's coverage of Anime Expo 2017 is sponsored by Aniplex and Yen Press.

Everyone's favorite pop-culture-savvy fast food chain (or at least its marketing team) headed to this year's Anime Expo. The restaurant held the Arby's Art Drop Promotion at the convention from July 1-4 and gave away special prizes.

The company hid eleven of its legendary papercraft creations around the convention. The first person to find each item after Arby's tweeted a picture of it received a prize pack. Judging by the prizes, Arby's is collaborating with Bandai Namco Entertainment for its Art Drop Promotion this time.

Here are the masterpieces from Arby's, winners, and some of the prizes:

Prizes:

  • Front-row seat at Bandai Namco's panel
  • Collector's edition of One Piece: Burning Blood game

This same likeness of One Piece's Franky debuted earlier this year.

Prizes:

  • SteelBook case for the Ni no Kuni II game
  • Line jump at Bandai Namco's booth to play Ni no Kuni II
  • Foam crown

Prizes:

  • Power Rangers Nintendo DS game
  • Download code for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle side-scrolling game

  • Naruto game
  • SteelBook case for the game
  • Press kit with art book

Prizes:

  • Digimon World: Next Order game
  • Line jump for Digimon StoRy: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory game demo

Hopefully Arby's realized it made a papercraft Tamagotchi and not a Digimon toy.

Prize:

  • Collector's edition of Little Nightmares game

Prize:

  • One Piece: Pirate Warriors game

The version of Franky from the final prize giveaway also debuted earlier this year with the variant that was the first item for the prize campaign at the convention. Arby's also held an Art Drop Promotion at E3 in April.

The fast food chain's tireless and creative marketing team was not only at work at Anime Expo on Tuesday. The official Twitter account for Arby's also posted a video of Street Fighter's Guile ogling bacon.
