Sword Art Online Movie's Sayaka Kanda Gets Married

Singer, voice actress, and stage play actress Sayaka Kanda announced on April 25 that she married her Danganronpa stage play co-star Mitsu Murata. The couple played Junko Enoshima and Mondo Owada in the Danganronpa The Stage 2016 ~Kibō no Gakuen to Zetsubō no Kōkōsei~ plays. Kanda appeared in a special video role in the Super Danganronpa 2 The Stage ~Sayonara Zetsubo Gakuen~ stage play rerun this year.
30-year-old Kanda and 39-year-old Murata began dating in the fall after the 2016 stage play opened and tied the knot approximately eight months later. They are currently preparing an intimate ceremony for May 13.
Murata puts his tall six-foot frame to good use, working as a fashion and magazine model, actor, and DJ. He starred in Kamen Rider Hibiki and Battle Royale II: Requiem. He's currently appearing in the stage play Hakai Runner.
Kanda's mother is the famous pop singer Seiko Matsuda (dubbed "the eternal idol"), a fact that has given the singer a complex, feeling pressured to make her own name for herself instead of merely riding on her coattails. Since the wedding announcement, Matsuda has not publicly congratulated her daughter. The two have a strained relationship related to Kanda's upbringing and career choices.
Kanda was the lead singer for the musical duo TRUSTRICK with guitarist Billy. Before TRUSTRICK went on hiatus, they performed theme songs for My Love Story!!, Shōnen Maid, Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Future Arc, and Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Despair Arc. She also voiced Yuna in Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale and will voice Miharu Mashiki in next season's Konbini Kareshi.
