Mr. Osomatsu Contact Lens TV Ads Only Make Us Want More Anime

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The Mr. Osomatsu comedy anime exploded in popularity during its run, selling out magazines, crowding out dōjinshi events, and claiming top spots on yearly trend lists. Despite its multitude of crossover merchandise campaigns and fan demand, the series hasn't gotten a proper sequel announcement. The recent special was a comedic tie-in with the Japan Racing Association. Animated ads, including one for non-alcoholic beer, seem like a cruel tease for fans of the show.

Nihon Optical's Heart Up contact lenses and glasses supply teamed up with the Matsuno brothers for new animated commercials as part of its "Heart Up x Mr. Osomatsu U29%" campaign, reminding us all how much we want more of the anime.

The commercials are only airing in the Tōkai region of Japan.

From February 23 to March 31 contact lenses and glasses frames will be 30% off. The stores will also have clear files and coaster sets for customers on a first-come first-served basis.

As for the Mr. Osomatsu sequel, the "Osomatsu-san Ouma de Kobanashi" (Mr. Osomatsu: A Horse Anecdote) anime special had an end card with the text "See You Again Someday!!"
