Assassination Classroom Actress Rena Takeda Promotes Kishuku Gakkō no Juliet Manga

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Live-action Assassination Classroom actress Rena Takeda has signed on to star as Percia from the manga Kishuku Gakkō no Juliet (Boarding School's Juliet) manga in a series of ads.

The three ads feature Takeda accepting a confession, gifting homemade cookies, and discussing her rosary.

Romeo asks Percia out and claiming he will "change the world." Percia becomes flustered and tells him his notion is not something he can do on his own. She eventually agrees to date him if he proves he can change the world and keeps the relationship a secret.

Percia gifts Romeo cookies, but they're a little burnt. She asks him not eat them right away but he does. Percia tells him she'll make him a delicious bentō sometime.

Percia gives Romeo her rosary as a memento. She says that their date is a success because Romeo makes a face that she has never seen before.

The videos are part of a larger Twitter tie-in campaign. Twitter users that share the videos using links from the campaign page are entered to win special prizes. More prizes are revealed based on how many times the videos are viewed before March 8. The first prize is a reproduced image from the manga. The second prize is a Quo card, which is a prepaid card that can be used at convenience stores, restaurants, gas stations, drug stores, and bookstores. The third prize is a signed drawing from Kaneda and a signed photo of Takeda.

The manga centers on protagonist Romeo Inuzuka, the head of one boarding school dorm and Percia Juliet, the head of another. The two are constantly at odds with one another but as their names suggest, they'd really like for everyone to get along so the two could focus on their feelings for each other.

Kishuku Gakkō no Juliet runs in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. The March issue released on Thursday features an interview with Takeda where she discusses her adoration for Percia. Yōsuke Kaneda (Seiten Kōkō Idol Bu! ) launched the series last year and the fourth compiled volume was released on Thursday. A spin-off novel by author Nozomi Mochizuki (Service & Butler, Denpa na Megami no Iru Nichijō) was released the same day.

Kaneda will also participate in more manga collaborations, including writing Tejina-senpai with manga creator AZU in Young Magazine.
