posted on by Amanda Ellard

Makoto Shinkai, director of your name., posted a link on his Twitter to an official parody video of Kevin Spacey's Nine Lives film with a your name. twist. His post read a bewildered "nyan-da kore.....", a "nya" cat sound pun on "nanda kore" or "what is this?"

Nine Lives came out on August 5 in the U.S. and revolves around a stuffy billionaire body-swapping with his family's cat, whereas your name. follows two teens who swap bodies as a comet approaches Earth. The parody video by the film's Japanese distributor ASMIK Ace features eight cut scenes full of your name. and other culture references along with plenty of cat puns to promote the Japanese release on November 25.

Shinkai's latest film ranked #1 for seven straight weekends since opening. It is already 2016's highest-grossing film in Japan and is now the fifth highest-grossing anime film (after Ponyo's 15.50 billion yen or US$152.9 million), the sixth highest-grossing Japanese film, and 11th highest-grossing Japanese or overseas film overall. Shinkai wrote the script and directed the film. Masashi Ando (Spirited Away, When Marnie Was There, Paprika) served as the animation director and Masayoshi Tanaka (anohana, The Anthem of the Heart, Toradora!) designed the characters.
