Voice actress M.A.O suited up in a skin-tight black bodysuit to promote GANTZ:O, the 3DCG anime film. M.A.O voices Anzu Yamasaki in the adaptation of the Osaka arc from Hiroya Oku's Gantz manga.
The image appears in this year's 46th issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine. The issue also includes a gravure image of model Ayana "Ayanan" Takeda inspired by the film, although she opted for a bikini to fight the Yōkai Army.
The film will open in Japan on October 14, but first premiered at the 73rd Venice Film Festival. The Japanese screenings will feature 4DX and MX4D screenings alongside conventional screenings.
Keiichi Satou (Tiger & Bunny, Asura) is the chief director for the film, and Yasushi Kawamura (Appleseed: Ex Machina CGI director) is directing the film. Tsutomu Kuroiwa (One Piece Film Gold script) is writing the screenplay, Yoshihiro Ike (Karas, Tiger & Bunny, The Empire of Corpses) is composing the music, and Digital Frontier is handling production.
The original manga followed a young Tokyo man named Kei who is reanimated after a deadly subway accident. Kei and other resurrected people go on violent, seemingly endless missions at the behest of an unseen host. The GANTZ:O film depicts the Osaka arc in which the Tokyo and Osaka mission teams take on the subjugation of the Yōkai Army.
