i☆Ris Voice Actor/Idol Group Gets Its Own Webcomic

The idol group i☆Ris, which consists of voice actors Saki Yamakita, Yū Serizawa, Himika Akaneya, Yūki Wakai, Miyu Kubota and Azuki Shibuya, now has its own webcomic, courtesy of Yūta Taneda, who has illustrated i☆Ris merchandise for about two years.

Temporarily titled Shūkan i☆Ris ("Weekly i☆Ris"), the manga follows the women in two different formats: a standard slice-of-life segment and an imaginative segment ("What if the i☆Ris members were ______?") Both use a chibi style and go for four-panel gags.

In the right strip, Taneda clarifies that "Saki-sama" will not be the main character (despite being the leader of i☆Ris), since she is too hard to control. In the left strip, a cameraman narrator tries to follow Himika Akaneya into her room to learn all her secrets.

Shūkan i☆Ris will appear on i☆Ris's official website as well as Pinga; the above strips are all that are currently available. The webcomic is meant to drum up excitement for i☆Ris's upcoming fourth anniversary concert in Tokyo's famous Nippon Budōkan venue at 6:30 PM on November 25.
