Kyōsuke Usuta is getting a series of tribute illustrations from his peers at Weekly Shonen Jump+ to celebrate his 20th anniversary as a manga creator and the release of the second volume of Food Fighter Tabelu. Manga creators Kōhei Horikoshi (My Hero Academia), Ryō Nakama (Isobe Isobee Monogatari ~Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo~), Hideaki Sorachi (Gintama), Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro (Toriko), Kōji Ōishi (Inumarudashi—), Akira Amano (ēlDLIVE, Reborn!), and Shūichi Asō (Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan) are sharing their congratulatory messages and illustrations from April 26 to May 2.
Horikoshi drew the characters from Usuta's Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san.
Usuta began Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in 1995, and the series inspired a television anime adaptation in 1998. Usuta then drew Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2000 to 2010, and the series inspired an anime film from flash animation studio Kaeruotoko Shokai in 2009.
