Time-Lapse Video Shows Artist Draw Dark Souls III Scene in Chalk

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

FromSoftware began streaming a live painting video on Friday to promote the release of its Dark Souls III PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC game. The time-lapsed video shows a gothic cityscape form as one artist draws and smudges it out of chalk.

The drawing was created by 20-year-old artist Renarena at the Kansei Happyō Shiyūkai event on March 10.

The game is slated to ship in Europe and North America on April 12.

The "Apocalypse Edition" available in Europe for those who pre-order the game comes with a metal case and a soundtrack, and will be available for all three platforms.

The "Collector's Edition" in Europe will include: the game, a Red Knight figurine, an A4-size Dark Souls Trilogy hardcover artbook, a metal case, a soundtrack, three iron-on patches, a cloth game map, and an exclusive box.

The "Prestige Edition" in Europe will come with the same extras as the "Collector's Edition," as well as a numbered 40-cm Lord of Cinder hand-painted polystone resin figurine and a special display box.

The U.S. "Day One" edition for PS4 and Xbox One will include: a Prima Starter guide, the soundtrack, and a "Day One Edition O Sleeve."

The U.S. Collector's Edition will include: the game, a Red Knight figurine, an artbook, a metal case, a soundtrack, a Prima Starter guide, a cloth game map, and a collector's box.

Hidetaka Miyazaki is directing the game at FromSoftware. The game will ship in Japan on March 24 for the PS4 and Xbox One. The PC release will be available on April 12. A limited number of physical package editions in Japan will come with a specially made map and an original soundtrack CD. The game will get a limited edition PS4 console with four versions.
