McDonald's Anime Short Attracts Fast Food Part-Timers With AKB48 Idols
posted on
Studio Colorido (Taifū no Noruda) produced a "Mirai no Watashi" (The Future Me) campaign anime short for McDonald's restaurants, and McDonald's posted the short on Wednesday.
The short is part of McDonald's new "Crew ni Narō. Campaign" (Join the Crew. Campaign) to attract part-time restaraunt staff members. It depicts the coming-of-age of a new crew member named Sumire.
AKB48 idol group member Yui Yokoyama, AKB48 &TEAM 8 member Rin Okabe, and other members voice the characters. There is a different version of the short for each region of Japan, and the AKB48 &TEAM 8 members voice Sumire in each version. Below is the Kansai version for the region that includes Osaka, Kyoto, and nearby areas, as voiced by Yokoyama and Nanami Yamada:
Other versions include the Tohoku region (Sendai) voiced by Yokoyama and Nanami Satō:
And the Shikoku region voiced by Yokoyama and Yurina Gyōten:
More versions are coming soon for Hokkaido, Chūbu/Hokuriku, Chugoku, and Kyushu on April 4.
Studio Colorido has previously animated ads for the Puzzle & Dragons mobile game, the "Ryōtei no Aji" commercials for food manufacturer Marukome's instant miso soup and the 10th anniversary special animation for Fuji TV's Noitamina block, "Poulette Chair."
