Ultraman 50-Year Anniversary CD Set Has 99 Theme Songs

Ultraman is getting a most impressive CD box set for its 50th anniversary Nippon Columbia. The five-disc set has over six hours of music with a total of 99 themes from the tokusatsu TV show and films. Ultraman X, Ultraman Ginga, Ultraman Retsuden, Ultraman Nexus, Ultraman Cosmos and more are included.
The set costs 6,480 yen (US$57.50) and is available now.
Bandai's S.H. Figuarts line added a 50th anniversary Ultraman figure, standard Ultraman figure, and his foe alien Baltan to the line-up. Gecco Corp. is releasing a 1/6-scale statue of the tokusatsu hero Ultraman in May. The statue is based on the designs from Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi manga series.
Horror manga artist Suehiro Maruo (Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show, The Strange Tale of Panorama Island) is also contributing to the superhero's 50th anniversary. The artist, and four others, are collaborating with clothing brand GU for a series of t-shirts. Both of Maruo's designs are available in multiple colors.
