There is no coincidence, there are only stylish fashion statements.
The dark fantasy CLAMP manga, xxxHOLiC is teaming up with anime fashion company SuperGroupies to deliver some new apparel to appeal to anyone's gothic magic tastes.
The star of this lineup is the stylish pumps, modeled after the mysterious wish-granting witch Yūko Ichihara. The pumps were designed by Japanese shoe designer Tyake Tyoke.
This elegant footwear is designed with a netted floral pattern with its heel standing at 7 cm. True to Yūko's style, butterfly symbols are prominent on the shoes. The right shoe is decorated with a butterfly-like bow at the tip of the shoe, while the left shoe comes fitted with a special butterfly etching propped onto the back. The shoe sizes range from 22-25.5cm and costs 15,800 yen (about US$128).
This pair of knotted stockings complements the pumps incredibly well. Strung together by red lace, these black stockings come printed with their own designs.
The right stocking features lines of smoke, characteristic of Yūko's smoking habit. The left stocking continues with the butterfly motif. These one-size-fits-all stockings cost 6,800 yen (US$55).
Of course, pieces designed after Yūko wouldn't be right if there weren't a piece modeled after her trusty and reluctant helper, Kimihiro Watanuki. This special necklace replicates Watanuki's glasses with a glimmering silver. An homage to his mismatched eyes, the left lens retains Watanuki's normal blue color with a blue gem while the other lens is decorated with a topaz-like gem, representing the eye he received from his friend, Shizuka Dōmeki (a butterfly is perched on top as a possible reference to Watanuki eventually succeeding Yuuko).
Speaking of Dōmeki, he also will have his own necklace. A simple design, the centerpiece takes the shape of an arrow, a reference to Dōmeki's skill as an archer.
Both necklaces come as a set for 8,800 yen (US$71), but can be worn separately.
Pre-orders for both items will be accepted until December 20. The pumps will be delivered some time in April of next year, while the necklaces will ship earlier in February.
