posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The official website of the Japan Kanji Aptitude Test, the nationally recognized test for certifying knowledge of Japanese kanji characters, began streaming the second part of its two-part "Why She Loves Kanji" ("Kanjo ga Kanji o Sukina Riyū") anime shorts on Tuesday. The short also teases a possible continuation to the series. Studio 4°C produced the two promotional shorts, and Toshiyuki Kubooka (the original character designer for The IDOLM@STER games and anime, Lunar, Giant Robo) designed the characters.
The website previously streamed the first anime short in September.
The website also began streaming five different 30-second trailers for the second short on Tuesday.
The story centers around Haruka Hirai, a first-year high school girl who loves kanji so much that she practices kanji in "My Favorite Kanji Notebook" during her spare time. Voice actress Aya Suzaki (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls' Minami Nitta, Tamako Love Story's Tamako Kitashirakawa) plays Haruka.
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka plays Yūsuke Sagara, a first-year student and track team member who loves Haruka.
Yūko Iida plays Natsumi Hatano, another first-year student and track team member who has been Haruka's close friend since middle school.
Tutti sang the original theme song "Suki." The second half of the story will debut in mid-October.
