1-of-a-Kind Ultraman Violin Will Be Sold at Classical Concert

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Symphonies have tapped the soundtracks of Sega Games, Sailor Moon, Pokémon, Madoka Magica and more for concerts in Japan and North America. The latest upcoming concert honors the groundbreaking tokusatsu series, Ultraman. The concert will bring out a special violin suited to match the eponymous hero.

The violin is one-of-a-kind, and will be sold to one lucky concert goer. The asking price? 780,000 yen (US$6,428). The instrument is made of spruce, maple, and ebony and is painted in Ultraman's signature colors with SSSP logo f-holes. In the chance that there's more than one interested buyer, the decision will be made via lottery.

The concert will take place at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre Concert Hall on November 2. Sadaaki Yazawa is conducting the show and tickets range between 5,000 yen (US$41) to 15,000 yen (US$124).
