Beauty Clinic Sponsors Contest to Find Japan's Hottest Doctor
posted on by Eric Stimson
Shōnan Beauty Clinic is sponsoring a contest, "Passion! The Hot Doctor of the Future Contest," to choose Japan's most appealing doctor. Contestants are judged according to three main qualities — knowledge, strength, and looks — and must be over 20 and enrolled in a medical studies program.
The first round of the contest, which concluded on April 19, sought contestants via web application. Those who passed that round went on to star in the Girls Award 2015 on April 29, where ten finalists were chosen. The Grand Prix choosing the winner will be held in late July; the finalists must answer questions on their profile and "appeal points" from the MC. The winner gets 500,000 yen ($4,180) to study medicine in America and gets to star in Shōnan Beauty Clinic commercials.

This is the second time the Hot Doctor Contest has been held. Last year's winner was Yūki Shimada, a track athlete from Osaka University. The Kantō region has also held a beauty contest to determine its hottest boy and girl.
