Moyoco Anno's The Diary of Ochibi-san Has Its Own Instagram

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Manga artist Moyoco Anno already has her own amazing Instagram account where the Insufficient Direction, Hataraki Man, and In Clothes Called Fat creator posts her drawings. Anno is also the creator of The Diary of Ochibi-san, a newspaper comic serial that's gained more attention lately, including a dedicated Instagram account.

The gag comic stars the titular Ochibi, her dog Pankui, and her cat Jack as they explore their home town and revel in the changing seasons. The Instagram account focuses on the same themes, with character figures posing among cherry blossoms and leaves.

The manga is available to read on Crunchyroll, but it'll soon make the jump from the page to the screen. The Diary of Ochibi-san is part of the newest season of the Animator Expo web series of shorts. The project is helmed by Anno's husband, director Hideako Anno and Dwango president Nobuo Kawakami.

The stop-motion short was crowdfunded in two separate campaigns.
