Experience Your Own Newtype Flash with a Flexatone

Most of us probably can't sense the presence of a nearby Newtype, but it doesn't mean we can't pretend. Gundam fans are probably familiar with this sound effect:
It's the sound that accompanies the so-called "Gundam Flash," when Newtypes pick up on the presence of another Newtype. Or even a delicious bowl of Nissin instant ramen:
That sound, though, which sounds like a mix between bells, a slide whistle, and a slamming car door, can largely be attributed to this:
It's a flexatone, a percussion instrument that, once you hear it, you'll realize has been used in dozens of cartoons, movies, and anything that needs a goofy glissando. And apparently you can buy one for $30.
