Kyushu Newspaper Reimagines Fukuoka's Capital in 2027 for Ghost in the Shell Arise Campaign

Kyushu's Nishinippon Shimbun newspaper's Ghost in the Shell Arise website is reimagining Fukuoka's capital city 13 years in the future. The image shows Fukuoka landmarks like the Fukuoka Dome, Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk, and Fukuoka Tower with a futuristic twist. The image is available as a wallpaper to download.
The collaboration between a local newspaper to promote an anime project is a first for Japan. The site also includes an "interview" with the anime project's lead character, Motoko Kusanagi, more information on the Yamanote Dam explosion seen in the anime, and real interviews with “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex director Kenji Kamiyaka, Ghost in the Shell Arise chief director Kazuchika Kise and scriptwriter Tow Ubukata.
