Hatsune Miku & Pharrell Williams Rock Out Anime-Style In Murakami Music Vid

posted on by Bamboo Dong

Chart-topping musician Pharrell Williams has collaborated with a lot of artists over the years, from Daft Punk to Jay-Z to Snoop Dogg to even Britney Spears, but one of his recent efforts has landed him in an anime.

Williams recently did a remix of "Last Night, Good Night (Re:Dialed)" a Hatsune Miku song originally produced by livetune's kz, and later used as the theme song for Jellyfish Eyes, the 2013 debut feature film by renowned artist Takashi Murakami.

Appropriately, Murakami created a video for the remix of "Last Night, Good Night (Re:Dialed)," featuring none other than Pharrell in his signature hat, dancing alongside Hatsune Miku, kz, critters from Jellyfish Eyes, and an army of dancing robots.

This isn't the first time that Murakami and Pharrell have teamed up; back in 2008, they worked together on an art piece called "The Simple Things." Murakami has also previously collaborated with livetune, directing the PV for the song, "Redial."

Jellyfish Eyes premiered in the US on April 2013 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, but is currently touring the country until mid-June. Check out the trailer below.
