Moe Headphones Design Book Kickstarter Surpasses Goal
posted on by Eric Stimson
Sekai Project, a Los Angeles-based startup devoted to expanding the market for Japanese doujin products internationally ("sekai" is Japanese for "world"), has launched a Kickstarter for Moe Headphones Design Guidebook 2013, a guidebook to six designer headphones accompanied by illustrations by Japanese doujin artist Lunatic Joker (also known as Tsukigami Luna) depicting the headphones as worn by moe girls. The 52-page book includes a roundtable discussion with nine Namco sound engineers and interviews with Hideyuki Daichi Suzuki, an arranger for Hello! Project, a female idol collective, and the editor of Tokyo Headphone Magazine. It has already been published in Japan; the campaign will fund a translation.
The campaign was launched last month with a goal of $5,000. It has more than doubled that goal, earning $12,055 as of January 17. The project is set to continue until January 29, so if you like your deluxe headphones modeled by cute girls, check out the Kickstarter!
