Candy Candy's Igarashi Opening Gorgeous Exhibit in France

Over 20 pieces on display and for sale
Classic shōjo manga creator Yumiko Igarashi is bringing her artwork to France for a one-month special exhibition. The exhibit includes 20 pieces of art, including images from her manga Mayme Angel and historical-inspired portraits. The art at the exhibit is also for sale and each piece will fetch about 450 euros (~$605).

Igarashi has spent over 45 years in the manga industry and was one of the first recipients of Kodansha's Manga Award for shōjo manga in 1977. She began drawing her winning manga. Candy Candy, with writer Kyoko Mizuki when she was a senior in high school. Her other series include Georgie!, The Sword of Paros, and Mukamuka Paradise.
The “Igarashi Yumiko: Empress of Shōjo Manga” exhibition will stop in Lyon, France from November 30 to December 1 and Paris from December 4 to January 4.
