"Fighting Scarf Girls" Posters Mix Attack on Titan, Yozakura Quartet
posted on by Bamboo Dong
A collaborative promo poster that was being displayed in train stations around Tokyo has been causing quite a stir. Touting the tagline, "The girls fight. For their loved ones," the posters feature Attack on Titan's Mikasa Ackerman and Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~'s Hime Yarisakura. The thing they have in common? Their scarves, of course.
The posters were displayed in Tokyo train stations from September 30 to October 7, but fan response has been so positive, they're being reprinted in B2 size (707 mm x 500 mm [27.8" x 19.7"] and distributed to anime stores.
The ad campaign was set up to publicize the release of Attack on Titan volume 4 on BD and DVD (October 16), as well as the television premiere of Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~ (October 6), which airs every Sunday at 11:30 PM JST on Tokyo MX. The home video distribution of both properties is handled by Pony Canyon.
The idea behind the posters is that both Mikasa and Hime received their scarves from loved ones. And thus, even though they're from different times and have different lives and situations, they are united by their dedication to fight for their loved ones.
