Evangelion Christmas Cakes for December 2013

Reserve your own Evangelion cake for this holiday season!
Every year, the Japanese convenience store chain LAWSON releases an Evangelion-themed Christmas cake. This year's offering shows Rei and Asuka chilling out on an adorable log cabin-decorated sponge cake.
The cake itself is made of layers of chocolate sponge cake and caramel cream. Reservations start December 1 at 6 PM JST, with a delivery period of December 19 through December 25. Each cake is being sold for 4,500 yen (~$45.60).
Incidentally, if those Rei and Asuka figures look familiar, it's because they look to be reproductions of this Christmas-themed Evangelion figure collection, released back in 2010. The only big difference is that Asuka's pedestal has been decorated like a chimney.

Speaking of Christmas cakes, earlier this year, Premium Bandai started accepting pre-orders for their own Evangelion cake. They, too, are continuing a tradition of annual Evangelion Christmas cakes.
