If you're in Japan and you think you've got what it takes to be the next Vocaloid or anisong (anime song) sensation, then this may be your lucky break. Sony Music is currently holding "Utakatsu!", open auditions for Vocaloid and anisong artists.
The auditions are open to artists in their teens up to age 25 who are currently not signed to a record label, production company, or music publisher, and the winner is guaranteed a performance debut in 2014.
Entries can be submitted by postal mail or online, as well as certain karaoke venues across Japan equipped with Daiichi Kosho Live Dam and Premier Dam karaoke machines.
In recent years, Vocaloid and anime music have seen a surge in popularity, topping Japanese karaoke charts and music sales. Sony is hoping to find the next generation of artists in these genres, so if your dream is to be a Vocaloid, this could be your chance.
