Leiji Matsumoto 60th Anniversary Compendium Out Now

Book publisher Pia released a 60th anniversary compendium of the works of manga artist Leiji Matsumoto on August 23. Titled Leiji Matsumoto Pia, the book features artwork from Matsumoto's manga and anime series, including Galaxy Express 999 and Captain Harlock, as well as an overview of the evolution of his characters and artwork over the past 60 years. The book also includes a special feature on the upcoming Captain Harlock 3D anime feature film, opening in theaters on September 7. Features include a two-person interview with voice actors Shun Oguri and Haruma Miura, question and answer sessions with Leiji Matsumoto, and a preview of the upcoming movie. The book also includes a poster of the many mechanical and vehicle designs from Matsumoto's 60-year career.
The book retails for 1,000 yen (about US$10).
