Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate Trailer Highlights Playable Characters

Koei Tecmo Games began streaming a trailer on Wednesday for its upcoming PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita game Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (titled Musō Orochi 2 Ultimate in Japan). The trailer introduces several of the game's more than 140 playable characters, highlights gameplay elements such as the triple rush, battle style change, air-type action, and "Shin Musou Burst," and also highlights game modes such as Unlimited Mode and Dual Mode.
Characters featured in the trailer that are new to Ultimate include Tamamo-no-Mae (voiced by Yuka Komatsu), Ōryū (Mitsuaki Madono), and Nata (Shunzou Miyasaka). Also, Kasumi (Houko Kuwashima) from Dead or Alive 5, Sterkenburg "Sterk" Cranach (Juurouta Kosugi) from the Atelier series, and Sophitia (Chie Nakamura) from the Soul Calibur series will join the game.
The original Musō OROCHI game featured characters from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors while Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate will include Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors as well as characters from Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden, and the Atelier series.
The game is slated to ship on September 26 in Japan. The PS3 version will cost 6,615 yen (about US$67) while the downloadable version will be 5,800 yen (US$58). The PS Vita version is expected to retail at 6,090 yen (US$61) while the downloadable version will be 5,400 yen (US$54). A premium edition at includes the original soundtrack, a sticker set of all the characters, and character design postcards for the new characters will retail for 9,765 yen (about US$99) and 9,240 yen (about US$93) for the PS3 and PS Vita versions, respectively.
