posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Warner Entertainment Japan posted a message and photo to its Twitter account on Wednesday noting that the company gave Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro a copy of both the Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings and Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 2: Eternal films on Blu-ray Disc. The two films had just shipped on home video on July 24.
The Twitter post adds "[del Toro] has a good facial expression!! It couldn't be that, in the near future, there might be a Hollywood live-action adaptation! Oh my goodness...!?"
del Toro recently visited Japan's man-made Odaiba island with Pacific Rim actresses Rinko Kikuchi (Mako Mori) and Mana Ashida (Young Mako). While there, del Toro visited the life-size Gundam model for the first time. Pacific Rim opened in Japan on August 9, and the film opened at #6, earning 298,141,195 yen (about US$3,047,867) on 596 screens in its first three days.
Aniplex of America released the first two films in two different Blu-ray Disc sets in North America on July 30.
