posted on by Karen Ressler
Following the announcement of a new Strider game at San Diego Comic-Con, CAPCOM Europe began streaming seven minutes of gameplay footage on Friday for the upcoming game. The game will be available via XBox Live, PLAYSTATION Network, and on Steam in early 2014 for the following systems: PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
CAPCOM released the original Strider side-scrolling platform arcade game 1989, and a different version from the arcade game was released under the same name in North America for the Nintendo Entertainment System the same year. The game has also spawned a manga adaptation.
The new game will be the first new game in the franchise since Strider 2 was released in arcades in 1999 and on the PlayStation in 2000. Double Helix Games is developing the new game.
