Game publisher Nippon Ichi Software announced 3 new video game titles it will be releasing in the future on Saturday at the “Netherworld War Live episode1: Asagi's Counterattack” event that was held in Yokohama, Japan in celebration of the company's 20th anniversary.
The three titles are Criminal Girls INVITATION (tentative title) for the PS Vita that is scheduled for release this winter, Makai Senki Disgaea 4 Return (Disgaea 4 Return) that is scheduled for release January 2014, and the Asagi 10 Shuu Nen Kinen Project (10 Years of Asagi Project) game that is currently in the planning stages. The logo of Makai Senki Disgaea 4 Return is almost identical to 2011's Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten video game for the PlayStation 3.
The original Disgaea 4 video game revolves around Valvatorez (Valvatorze in the Japanese version), a vampire demon who used to be extremely powerful and feared. However, due to a promise with a human not to drink human blood, he has been reduced to a Prinny Instructor in Hades, and now feeds off of sardines. Along with his werewolf servant Fenrich, he aims to overthrow Hades' government. Later on, he meets Fuka, a Prinny who was only given a Prinny hat due to shortages of Prinny hide, Emizel, the Netherworld President's spoiled son, and Vulcanus, a mysterious angel who has an eye for money.
Nippon Ichi Software America (NISA) released Makai Senki Disgaea 4 under the title Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten for the PlayStation 3 in North America in Europe in 2011, and also released the PS Vita port of Makai Senki Disgaea 3 (Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice) under the title Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention in 2012.
