posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
On Sunday, Fuji TV announced the lead cast for the live-action adaptation of Miki Yoshikawa's school romantic comedy manga Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo. Mariya Nishiuchi (new live-action GTO, One Piece Film Z's Marin) and Yūsuke Yamamoto (Kamen Rider Kabuto, live-action Ouran High School Host Club, GTO) will star as urara Shiraishi and Ryū Yamada, respectively.
The story begins when Yamada, the high school's worst problem child, bumps into the beautiful honor student Shiraishi on the stairs, and their lips touch as they fall. When they regain their wits, they realize that they have swapped bodies. As time progresses, the two realize that this is not the only mysterious happening in the school.
Yoshikawa launched her Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo manga last February, and the series is currently running in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine. Kodansha published the seventh volume of the manga on Monday.
The live-action series is scheduled to premiere on the Fuji TV channel on August 10 at 11:10 p.m., and will air every Saturday.
